Synopsis:-
In this month’s Woodcarving, we speak to Shane Raven about his spectacular carvings and his introduction to the world of wood, and how his work has got him noticed in Hollywood, whilst Maureen Hockley reports on the last National Wildlife Carving and Sculpture Exhibition at the traditional venue of Pensthorpe. Across the globe, Carol Ventura explores the importance of woodcarving in the central African republic of Cameroon, whilst elsewhere, Neil McAllister discovers there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to carving on the virtually unspoilt island of Borneo. On test this month we feature Ryobi’s ECW-1841 Chainsaw as Mick Burns puts it through its paces, whilst Brian Weaving gets technical and advises how best to enter a prize winner into this year’s BDWCA British Championships.
