Synopsis:-
On the technical front this month in F&C, John Wilkie debates whether biscuits or tenons are the better joint to use in furniture making, whilst John Bullar invites his apprentices to have a go at veneering a tabletop, and John Lloyd continues his series of making chairs with a look at Victorian chairs. Projects to get your teeth into include a fabulous console table in oak with Gordon Fry, a blanket chest worthy of exhibiting with Brendan Devitt-Spooner and a showcase dining room suite with Mark Ripley. Features for February looks at Martin Grierson's impressively kitted out workshop as seen from the eyes of Andrew Lawton and John Bullar. On test this month, Alan Holtham revisits his excellent workshop on a budget series with a look at planer thicknessers, whilst F&C editor is let loose to work his magic on the new dimension saw from Moretens, and a pair of affordable random orbital sanders from Ryobi. The Ryobi Woodworker of the Year Competition has been extended by a month, closing
